No relationship is perfect, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t worth working on.
Whether you're feeling stuck in cycles of miscommunication, drifting apart emotionally, or
just want to feel closer and more supported by your partner, couples counselling can be a
powerful reset.
Couples Counselling is now available at Connected Minds Psychology in Melbourne.
With two dedicated relationship therapists now on our team, we’re here to help you
strengthen your connection, work through challenges, and create a relationship that feels safe, supportive and fulfilling - for both of you.
Why Consider Couples Counselling?
You don’t need to be in crisis to benefit from relationship support. In fact, many couples seek
counselling to stay connected, maintain open communication, or work through stressors
before they become major issues.
Some of the common reasons couples come to us include:
Feeling more like roommates than partners;
Constant or escalating arguments;
Difficulty navigating big life changes together;
Emotional or physical distance;
Struggles with trust or past hurt; and
Wanting to improve co-parenting or end a relationship respectfully.
We offer a supportive space where both people feel heard, respected and part of the process.

What You Can Expect from Therapy
Each couple is different, so every session is tailored to your unique dynamic. Our therapists
are trained in research-backed methods, including:
Gottman Method Couples Therapy – grounded in decades of relationship research;
Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) – helping you feel emotionally safe and seen;
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) – for navigating thinking patterns; and
Attachment-based approaches – exploring the deeper emotional needs behind your
reactions.
We don’t take sides. Our goal is to help you understand each other more deeply, repair past
hurts, and build tools for a healthier future - together.
Is Couples Therapy Right for Us?
If you’re unsure whether relationship therapy is the right step, ask yourselves:
Do we keep having the same arguments without resolution?
Have we lost a sense of emotional closeness or shared purpose?
Are we navigating a big transition, like becoming parents or moving?
Do we want to improve how we listen, communicate, and connect?
If you answered yes to any of these, counselling could be a valuable space to reset and grow.
